Napa Valley for Non-Drinkers

Napa Valley is known worldwide for the wines it produces. There are hundreds of wineries in Napa Valley. The valley is covered with beautiful scenery and surrounded by rolling hills and mountains. But wineries aren’t all that Napa Valley has to offer. There’s plenty of things to do for non-drinkers. Here’s a list to get you started.

Napa Valley Train

Hop on The Wide Train and ride through Napa Valley, taking in the beautiful scenery of Northern California’s wine country. Enjoy a freshly prepared meal, including dessert, followed by complimentary tea and coffee (soft drinks, juice, and alcohol available for an additional charge). Don’t forget to stop by the kitchen car to watch the chefs prepare your meal. You can book the wine train experience for lunch or dinner.

Walking Tours

Foodies on Foot provides tours of downtown Napa that combine stories about the history of Napa and foods from some of the top restaurants in the area. This tour makes stops at seven restaurants so you are sure to get a true taste of the culinary delights that Napa Valley has to offer.

Paper Napan Walkabouts offers two different guided tours. One tour explores the murals in the Rail Arts District, two wineries and a brewery. Each establishment offers light refreshments. The other tour explores historical homes of Napa. It includes stops at two wineries where you’ll get a taste of food paired with wines. Non-drinkers can skip the wine and enjoy the tour and food.

Scavenger Hunt

Let’s Roam offers scavenger hunts in many cities around the globe. Napa is one of them! This scavenger hunt will take you through the city, to iconic landmarks, and along the river to enjoy riverside parks. Along the way, you’ll learn more about the art, culture and history of Napa.

Escape Room

The Grape Escape adventure will test your skills, both physically and mentally. Solve mysteries and games to escape the room. There are three room options that you can choose from, each with different levels of difficulty. Games can be played with as few as 2 players or as many as 8 players.

Horseback Riding Tour

Rollin F Ranch is a private ranch that offers horseback riding tours. You’ll get a scenic, guided ride through their beautiful vineyard and wooded landscape estate. The price of the tour includes a brief riding and safety lesson before the tour begins.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

Yes, there is a Six Flags in the Napa Valley area! Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has over 45 rides, shows and attractions. Take in a dolphin show, stop by the animal nursery, take in a live show or hop on one of the many family or thrill rides. Dining options range from snacks to a full meal. Dining passes that offer some cost savings can be purchased.

Spas

There are a long list of spas in Napa Valley and there is a wide range of services and specialties available. Create your own itinerary that includes a morning, afternoon or full day at the spa. You can search for spas and check out their reviews through Yelp or Spafinder.

Other options for fun in Napa Valley include bike, paddle board and kayak rentals. You can also sign-up for an art class at The Art Lab. If you’ll be in the area for a longer stay, you can sign up for a pottery class (items made are fired in the studio and available for pick up in 5-7 days).
